Myrtis Austin Green died Saturday, Jan. 22, 2011, at River Region Medical Center. She was 58.

Mrs. Green was a homemaker and a member of Morning Star M.B. Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James Green; her father, Joe Austin; her mother, Alice Austin; and sisters, Bessie Whitaker, Joe Mary Scott and Anne Austin.

She is survived by two sons, DeWayne Thomas of Parchman and Joseph Wells of Vicksburg; two daughters, Mary Austin-Gales of Killeen, Texas, and Tarsha Thomas-Smith of Little Rock, Ark.; six brothers, Howard Austin, James Austin and Charles Turner, all of Vicksburg, Arthur B. Williams of Detroit, Joseph Austin Jr. of Leesville, La., and Harry Austin of Texas; a sister, Stella Mae Francis of Dayton, Ohio; six grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives.
