Frances G. Hawkinson died Sunday, Jan. 2, 2011, at River Region Medical Center. She was 63.

Born in Houma, La., Mrs. Hawkinson was a former resident of New Orleans and had been a resident of Vicksburg since 1998. She was the daughter of the late Roy Emile Guillot and Miriam Berniard Guillot. Mrs. Hawkinson was a 1964 graduate of St. Francis de Sales High School in New Orleans and of Nicholls State University in Thibodaux, La. She was a teacher at Ecole Classique in New Orleans for 20 years and Porters Chapel Academy in Vicksburg for 10 years, retiring in 2009. Mrs. Hawkinson was a member of several professional organizations and a member of the Catholic faith.

She is survived by her husband, Bruce Andrew Hawkinson; a brother, Robert R. Guillot (Gail) of Houma; and two nieces, Amy R. Guillot of New Orleans and Robyn G. Ledet (Lynn) of Houma.

A celebration of life service will be at Chauvin Funeral Home in Houma. Riles Funeral Home is in charge of local arrangements.
