Two Vicksburg teens were arrested Monday for residential burglaries in the city, police Lt. Bobby Stewart said today.

Johnathan D. Clark Jr.,17, 1613 Lane St., and Richard Albert, 18, 5632 Gibson Road, were stopped by police at 4:20 p.m. at Halls Ferry Road and Interstate 20, Stewart said.

Albert was driving a maroon 1996 Nissan pickup that matched the description of a truck seen leaving a home burglary 25 minutes earlier in the 100 block of Gray Oaks Drive, said the lieutenant.

The homeowner had returned to find the pickup parked in his driveway, and then saw two men run out of his home and drive away, Stewart said. He was able to provide a description of the truck and the tag as well as the direction in which the two fled.

Nothing was reported stolen, presumably because the homeowner interrupted the burglary in progress, Stewart said.

After stopping the truck, police identified Clark and Albert and made the arrest, subsequently charging them with the Jan. 11 burglary of a residence in the 600 block of Holly Ridge Drive in which a Russian 9mm pistol valued at $400 and a Browning bolt-action rifle valued at $600 were reported missing.

Both men were taken to the Warren County Jail where Albert was released after posting $30,000 bond, and was Clark was being held this morning pending the posting of $30,000 bond, Stewart said.
