When the offer of $1,500 for a Indian mini dirt bike hit his ears, Robert Henry perked up.
“I knew I had one of those hanging up outside,” Henry said. “I went out, got it off the hook and started working on it.”
Although Henry was not the recipient of the $1,500 offer on a television show, he knew only then he had something valuable.
The Indian mini-bike stands about 2 feet tall with tiny wheels and handlebars. They were manufactured in the early to middle of the 20th century. And it’s one of a dozen or so bikes Henry has restored or rebuilt during more than 50 years of tinkering with motorbikes.
“My first was a Sears and Roebuck moped,” Henry said while standing in his shop at his home in northeast Warren County. “I was 12 or 13 at the time.”
