William Taylor Oldham

MECHANICSBURG, Miss. — William Taylor Oldham died Sunday, May 5, 2011, at Hospice Ministries in Ridgeland. He was 100.

Born in Mechanicsburg, Mr. Oldham was an Army veteran and a retired welder.

He was preceded in death by his father, Samuel Y. Oldham; his mother, Mattie B. Mansfield Oldham; his wife, Margaret Latimer Oldham; and five sisters, Jessie Martin, Mabel Daniel, Arneal Germany, Thelma Hilderbrand and Leila Martin.

Survivors include a daughter, Louise Pettis of Bentonia; three grandsons; nine great-grandchildren; and two great-great-granddaughters.

Services were at 10 today at Stricklin-King Funeral Home in Yazoo City with the Revs. Skipper Maxwell and Danny Duggan officiating. Burial followed at Mount Olivet Cemetery in Yazoo County.

Pallbearers were Sidney Potter, Walter Smith, Josh Sadler, Pat Ramsey, Felix Sadler and Paul Massey.

Honorary pallbearers were Lamar Sibley, Dwight Sibley and Calvin Sibley.
