GARY, Ind. — Willie Myles “Sonny” Greene, formerly of Vicksburg, died Monday, Jan. 31, 2011, in Gary, Ind. He was 67.

Mr. Greene was born in Indianola to Fred Green and Velma Myles. He attended St. Mary’s Catholic School in Vicksburg and graduated in 1962 from Froebel High School in Gary. He served in the Air Force before working at the former Bethlehem Steel, retiring in 2002.

He is survived by his wife, Darlene Greene of Gary; three stepchildren, Shanita Sells and Anthony Sells, both of Gary, and Anderson Broaden of Fargo, N.D.; three brothers, Freddy Greene and Johnny Greene, both of Gary, and Louis Jackson of Manassas, Va.; one sister, Brenda Holiday of Gary; and nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Services were at 11 a.m. Thursday at Powell-Coleman Funeral Home in Gary. Burial followed at the Veterans Administration Cemetery.
