Mr. and Mrs. Charles Pettway of Vicksburg announce the engagement of their daughter, Charlie Desireé, to William Chase Hilderbrand. Mr. Hilderbrand is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Phil Hilderbrand of Bentonia.

Miss Pettway is the granddaughter of Paul Pettway of Buna, Texas, and the late Evelyn Pettway and Helen Watson of Mound, La. She is the great-granddaughter of Charles A. “Pappy” Pettway of Vicksburg and Edwin Price and the late Eunice Price of Mound.

Mr. Hilderbrand is the grandson of Jonnie Thomas of Clinton and the late Joe Thomas and the late Bill and Vadene Hilderbrand of Bentonia.

The bride-elect is a 2008 graduate of Warren Central High School. She graduated in 2010 from Hinds Community College.

Miss Pettway is a stylist/barber at Split Ends of Vicksburg.

The prospective groom is a 2005 graduate of Yazoo County High School. He received an associate degree from Mississippi Delta Community College in 2007.

Mr. Hilderbrand is employed by the City of Vicksburg.

Vows will be exchanged April 23, 2011, at the Welcome Valley Village in Benton, Tenn., overlooking the Ocoee River.
