Charles S. and Kathryn Caldwell Gastrell will celebrate their 65th wedding anniversary Monday. They were married July 11, 1946, at First Baptist Church in Vicksburg.

For a number of years, the Gastrells made their home in Alexandria, Va., where Charles attended Georgetown University and received a degree in foreign service and Kathryn worked at Internal Revenue. Upon graduation, Charles worked as a contract negotiator for the Navy Department and completed 20 years in the Air Force Reserves. Kathryn served as director of business for Burgundy Farm Country Day School.

The Gastrells returned to Vicksburg after their retirement and have lived here for the past 30 years. They have three children, Lynda Kathryn Aden, Charles Seay Gastrell Jr. and Charlotte Elaine White; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
