The engagement of Carly Elizabeth Hardin of Belzoni to Sgt. Matthew Duren of Covington, La., is announced today. Vows will be exchanged at 6 p.m. April 16, 2011, in Gulf Shores, Ala.

Miss Hardin is the daughter of Marie Hardin and Marty Hardin, both of Belzoni. She is the granddaughter of Jimmie Lou Domino and the late Samuel Domino and Colleen Hardin and the late H.W. Hardin, all of Belzoni.

Sgt. Duren is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Duren of Madison. He is the grandson of Sue Williams and the late Gaston Williams of Flowood and Mr. and Mrs. J.C. Duren of Edwards.

The bride-elect is a 2006 graduate of Humphreys Academy and a 2010 graduate of the Mississippi Institute of Aesthetics, Nails and Cosmetology. She is employed at On Stage Hair Studio in Slidell, La.

The prospective groom is a 2005 graduate of Warren Central High School. He is a sergeant in the U.S. Marine Corps stationed in New Orleans.
