Wanda Joy Pitcher died Monday, May 5, 2014, at River-Region Medical Center. She was 62.

She was born in Belzoni, where she graduated from Louise High School, and lived in Vicksburg for many years, while she was employed with the Vicksburg Warren School District, before moving to Yazoo City, where she has lived for the past six years.

She was preceded in death by her parents, James Otis Russell Sr. and Addie Frank West Russell, and a brother, Wiley Russell.

Survivors include her husband, the Rev. Allen Pitcher; children, Christopher A. Leese and Kimberly M. Leese, all of Yazoo City; brother, James Otis Russell Jr. of Vicksburg; and two grandchildren.

Services will be 2 p.m. Friday, May 9, 2014, at Glenwood Funeral Home in Vicksburg with the Rev. Scott Reiber and the Rev. Mike Fields officiating.  Burial will follow at Glenwood Cemetery in Yazoo City.  Visitation will be Friday from noon until the hour of the service.

Pallbearers will be Sid Johnson, Payton Price, Randy Hill, Martin Pace, Jeff Smith and Randy Waldrep.
