Patrick William Tompkins III

Patrick William Tompkins III of Vicksburg died Wednesday, May 7, 2014, at his home. He was 74.
He was the son of the late Patrick and Mary Louise Hennington Tompkins. He graduated from Carr Central High School and served eight years in the United States Air Force.
Mr. Tompkins retired from International Paper Co. with 30 years of service. He enjoyed singing, playing the guitar and enjoyed the outdoors and hunting. He was president of the Dillon Ridge Hunting Club. He loved his family, and the love of his life was his granddaughter. Mr. Tompkins was a member of Porters Chapel United Methodist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Ilse R. Rossmanith Tompkins of Vicksburg; a daughter, Corinna Renee Tompkins Deel (Derek) of Ruston, La.; sons, Patrick Morris Tompkins of Buford, Wyo., and Martin Richard Tompkins (Denise) of Vicksburg; granddaughter, Danielle Nicole Deel of Ruston, La.; sister, Mary Louise Bolling; brother-in-law, Erhard Rossmanith of Germany; and nephews, King Reagan, Chris Reagan, Jeff Reagan and Ralf Rossmanith.
Funeral services will be noon Friday, May 9, 2014, at Frank J. Fisher Funeral Home with the Rev. Billy Brumfield officiating. Visitation will be Friday from 10 a.m. until the hour of service.
Honorary pallbearers will be Charles Peets, Danny Koestler, Joe Aaron, Randy Thorne, Harold Whatley, James Beard, Randy King, Dr. Bill Pierce and Dr. Paul Pierce, IV.
