Indianapolis, IN– Eddie Lee Howard died Thursday, May 22, 2014 at Community East Hospital. He was 59.
Mr. Howard graduated from Warren Central High in 1972. He was a self-employed landscaper for many years before moving to Indiana to live with his companion and his daughter.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Sarah Hicks Howard; paternal grandparents Joseph Howard. Sr. Viola and Annie Howard; maternal grandparents, Richard Daniels and Josephine Brown; uncles, Albert Young and Leon Blackmore; aunts, Susie Anna Blackmore and Dorothy Mae Jones.
He is survived by his companion, Mary Jones of Indiana; two daughters, Nichole Howard of Indiana and Latasha Galloway of Vicksburg; three sons, Eddie Howard Jr., Jerome Howard, and Louis Grant all of Vicksburg; parents, Joseph and Dora Mae Howard of Vicksburg; six sisters, Mary Ann Lewis, Joe Evelyn and Lee Dora Howard all of Vicksburg, Jerridine and Barbara Howard of Jackson, MS, and Gloria Jean Holmes of Lincoln of Nebraska; three brothers, George Maniel of Starkville, Anthony J. Howard of Vicksburg, and Billy Ray Howard of Bolton; three aunts, Elenor Neely of Oakland, Calif., Mary Louise Wade of Richmond, Calif., and Betty J. Erves of Vicksburg; one uncle, Mack Henry Howard of Chicago, Ill; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and members of the Banks, Blackmore, Bradford, Brown, Carter, Davis, Erves, Gaskin, Mace, Maniel, Prentiss, Wats and numerous of other relatives and friends.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Lakeview Funeral Home with the Rev. Joseph Brisco officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Cemetery.
Visitation will be held Monday from 1 until 7 p.m., with family present from 6 until 7 at Lakeview Funeral Home.
