Two Warren County men accused of stealing items from a church, a hunting camp and a farm were held without bail this morning, and investigators are seeking help recovering some of the stolen property.

Brian Odom, 23, 2160 South Frontage Road, Apt. 16-H, and Gary Paul Guillot, 21, 420 Tilton Ranch Road, were arrested and charged with grand larceny, burglary and two counts of business burglary, Warren County Lt. Randy Lewis said.

The two are accused of breaking into Bovina Baptist Church, 5293 U.S. 80, Oxbow Hunting Camp in the 1100 block of Halls Ferry Road, and Red Bird Farms, 8289 Mississippi 27 and stealing an assortment of items including four-wheelers, hunting and fishing equipment, tools and an 88-inch television, Lewis said.

Some of the property has been recovered, Sheriff Martin Pace said.

“There’s additional property that we have not recovered that we believe they sold in the Vicksburg area,” Pace said. “Anyone who may have purchased something from then in the past few weeks may unknowingly be in possession of stolen property.”

Anyone who might have made a purchase from Odom or Guillot should call Warren County Sheriff’s Office at 601-636-1761, he said.

 

Counterfeit money passed at casinos

More than a dozen counterfeit $100 bills were reportedly passed at two Vicksburg casinos Tuesday and Wednesday.

At 10:45 a.m. Wednesday, DiamondJacks Casino, 3990 Washington St., reported that that five fake $100 bills had been passed at the casino during the previous night, Vicksburg police Sgt. Randy Blake said.

At 7:24 p.m., Ameristar Casino, 4116 Washington St., reported that they had detained a man with six counterfeit $100 bills, all of which had the same serial number, Blake said. The man has been named as a suspect in the case but had not been charged this morning, Blake said.

Additionally the casino reported five of the fake bills had been passed between Tuesday and Wednesday, he said.

 

More storage units hit

Two more storage units were reported burglarized Wednesday in Vicksburg, bringing the total to eight in the past week.

At 1:27 p.m. Wednesday, assorted clothing was reported stolen from a storage unit at Indiana Self Storage, 3040 Indiana Ave., Vicksburg police Sgt. Randy Blake said.

At 3:01 p.m., a television, furniture and clothing with a combined value of $5,200 were reported missing from another unit at Indiana Self Storage, he said.

On Tuesday, six storage units were reported broken into at Indiana Self Storage and at Wisconsin Avenue Mini-Storage.

Audio equipment stolen

Stereo equipment was missing this morning following an auto burglary reported Wednesday morning in Vicksburg.

At 6:04 a.m., two 10-inch Sony speakers valued at $150 and a Pioneer amplifier valued at $150 were reported stolen from an unlocked car in the 400 block of Mission 66, Vicksburg police Sgt. Randy Blake said.
