PORT GIBSON — John Burnett died Thursday, June 12, 2014, at Claiborne County Medical Center in Port Gibson. He was 70.
Mr. Burnett was a member of Forrest Grove Christian Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Cammie and Ruth Reed Burnett.
Survivors include his wife, Betty Burnett of Pattison; four daughters, Patricia Flowers of Vero Beach, Fla., Camille Burnett-Davis of Pattison, Necola Chambliss of Fayette, and Ruth Wells of Hermanville; a stepdaughter, Cynthia McBride of Pattison; four brothers, Clarence Burnett and Cammie Burnett, both of Fayette, James Burnett and Bob Burnett, both of Red Lick; three sisters, Viola Gibson of Tillman, Rosie Berry of Redlick, and Mae Sue Burnett of Baton Rouge, La.; 21 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; a goddaughter; and nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
Services will be 1p.m., Saturday, June 21, 2014, at Mercy Seat M.B. Church in Port Gibson with the Rev. Columbus Felton officiating. Burial will be at Little Zion Cemetery under the direction of Thompson Funeral Home Inc. of Port Gibson.
Visitation will be Friday from 1p.m. until 6 p.m. at the home, and Saturday at the church from noon until the time of service.
