Lena Norene Webb Weaver

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — Lena Norene Webb Weaver, a former long-term resident of Vicksburg, passed away in Albuquerque on Wednesday, June 25, 2014, at the age of 98.
She was born in the village of Lasca, Ala., on July 7, 1915, the daughter of Thomas Lafayette Webb and Sarah Elizabeth Gibson Webb.
She was a homemaker, lived a humble life, and was kind, gentle, and helpful to many during her life. She will be greatly missed. Norene deeply loved her large and extended family, honored God, and was especially fond of children, animals, reading, music, travel, crossword puzzles, and the old CBS soap operas.
Mrs. Weaver was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, James Benjamin Weaver; grandson, James “Barney” Koestler; great-grandson Zachary Koestler; and siblings, Annie Mae Dennis, Lillie Myrl Petty, Joseph Francis Webb, Benjamin Jackson Webb, and Preston Webb.
She is survived by daughter Carolyn Ann Koestler of Vicksburg; son, Keith Wayne Weaver of Albuquerque; four grandsons, Mike (Diane) Koestler, Patrick (Mimi) Koestler, Leo Koestler III, and Chris (Ashley) Koestler; 10 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson; and loving nieces, nephews, and friends.
All funeral services and the burial will be at Valhalla Memorial Gardens and Funeral Home in Semmes, Ala. Funeral home visitation will be from 11 a.m. to noon Monday, June 30, 2014, followed by a service officiated by the Rev. Randy Newman from Beacon of Hope Church of God in Montgomery, Ala.
