Mott R. Headley II

Funeral services for Mott R. Headley II, 88, who passed away at his home on Monday, June 30, 2014, will begin with visitation at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 5, 2014, at Glenwood Funeral Home in Port Gibson with the service to follow at 11 a.m. Burial will be at Headley Cemetery.
Mr. Headley was born Jan. 19, 1926, in Ruleville to Frank Lewis and Anna Hunt Headley. In his early years, he moved to Claiborne County and later joined the U.S. Air Force. After completing his service, he married the love of his life, Hazel Marie McCaa, and together they began their farm and cattle operation. He later served as Claiborne County supervisor for 16 years.
Mr. Headley was very active in the American Paint Horse Association, serving as the national president for four years. He was a member of Port Gibson United Methodist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Anna Headley; his wife, Hazel McCaa Headley; two brothers, Hall Hunt Headley and Chalon Headley; and one sister, Annabel Headley Slay.
He is survived by his sons, Mott R. Headley Jr. (Linda Ann), Dr. David Headley (Jezelle), Melvin Headley (Daireth), Mark Headley (Debbie), and Dr. Massie Headley (Devin); 11 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
