Rolling Fork man jailed after narcotics raid

A Rolling Fork man was in jail Thursday after narcotics agents raided his home and found more than a quarter pound of marijuana late Wednesday.

Maurice Crawford, no age available, 86 Dorthy Drive, Rolling Fork, was arrested late Wednesday night by agents from North Central Narcotics Task Force and charged with possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, possession of a firearm by a felon and possession of a handgun while in possession of narcotics, said a member of the task force who spoke on condition of anonymity because he works undercover.

Agents from the task force found 130.6 grams — just over 4 ounces — of marijuana in Crawford’s home as well as a small caliber pistol.

A 2012 Nissan Altima was seized by agents during the bust.

Crawford was held without bail Thursday night in the Issaquena County Correctional Facility awaiting his initial court appearance.

Woman charged in April burglary

A Vicksburg woman accused of assisting in a burglary in April was held without bail Thursday.

Dawn Miller, 39, 218 Leland Road, was arrested at 2 p.m. Thursday at a business on the corner of Lee Road and Indiana Avenue and charged with being an accessory after the fact to burglary, Sherriff Martin Pace said.

The burglary occurred in April, Pace said.

Pace declined to discuss the details of the case and said more arrests could come.

Miller was held without bail Thursday in the Warren County Jail awaiting her initial court appearance.

 

Man held for drug court

A Vicksburg man was held without bail Thursday for drug court.

Malcolm C. Wright, 25, 916 Harrison St., was held Thursday in the Warren County Jail for a drug court sanction.
