After two games of offensive frustration, the Mississippi Braves broke out at the plate, and broke into the win column Sunday.

Kyle Wren’s steal of home plate highlighted a four-run fifth inning that propelled the M-Braves to a 6-3 win over the Montgomery Biscuits.

The M-Braves had lost the first two games of the series despite outhitting Montgomery 14-6. They got 13 hits in Sunday’s finale as Wren went 3-for-5 with two runs scored. David Rohm, Kyle Kubitza and Daniel Castro had two hits apiece.

Castro was 2-for-4 with a double and two RBIs.

Wren scored the first run of the game on Matt Kennelly’s RBI single in the third inning, and Kennelly scored on another single by Seth Loman for a 2-0 lead.

Wren got the M-Braves going again in the fifth inning. He led off with a single, got to third on a hit by Rohm, then stole home with a heads-up play.

As Montgomery catcher Luke Maile threw the ball back to the pitcher, Wren broke for the plate and scored to give Mississippi a 3-0 lead.

Castro then delivered a two-out, two-run double and Barrett Kleinknecht scored Castro with another double to break the game open.

Mississippi relievers Ryne Harper (6-3), Andrew Robinson and John Cornely combined to hold the Biscuits to one run on four hits and a walk over the last 4 1/3 innings to lock up the win.
