Services for Willie Lee Murphy are 11 a.m. Monday, July 28, 2014 at Gospel Temple M.B. Church with the Rev. Manny Murphy officiating. Interment shall follow in the Cedar Hill Cemetery with W.H. Jefferson Funeral Home in charge. Visitation is 6 to 7 p.m. Sunday in the chapel.
Murphy died Thursday, July 24, 2014 at University of Mississippi Medical Center following a brief illness. He was 73.
He was retired from Simpson Dura-Vent and a member of Ebenezer M.B. Church.
He was preceded in death by his father, Perley Murphy.
Survivors include his wife, Eugenia Murphy, of Vicksburg; his daughter, Bernadette Sims, of Little Rock, Ark., four stepsons, Curtis Valentine, Perry Valentine, Thomas Foster Jr. and Robert Foster, all of Vicksburg; four stepdaughters, Eugenia Davis, of Memphis, Natasha Moran, of Vicksburg, Sundra Akins, and Paula Hall, both of Little Rock; his mother, Willie Mae Murphy of Vicksburg; four brothers, J.C. Herman and Houston Herman, both of Chicago; Johnson Murphy and Manny Murphy, both of Vicksburg; a sister, Betty Draper of Vicksburg; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles and others.
