Cathy Wilson Neill, 64, a retired Hinds County employee, died Thursday, Aug. 14, 2014, at River Region Medical Center. Visitation will be 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday, and 1 p.m. Monday, Aug. 18, 2014, at Glenwood Funeral Home in Vicksburg. The memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Mrs. Neill was born in Jackson on Oct. 5, 1949. She spent most of her life in the Jackson area and graduated from Provine High School in 1967. She was a longtime public servant, having served with the State of Mississippi and Hinds County in various positions within the tax assessor’s office, sheriff’s office, and Workers Compensation Commission.

Survivors include her loving husband of 21 years, Kirk Neill, of Utica; her three sons, Johnny Alford and his wife Rita, of Seattle, Wash., Robby Alford and his wife Lupe, of Navarre, Fla., and Austin Neill, of Hattiesburg; and four grandchildren, Amuia, Elijah, Alicea, and Jake Alford.

She was preceded in death by her father, John Purvis Wilson and mother, Catherine Howell Wilson, and two brothers, John P. Wilson Jr. and Frank H. Wilson.
