Mattie M. Holston was born on May 10, 1924, and joined her loved ones in Heaven on Monday, Aug. 18, 2014 in Claiborne County. She was 90.

She is preceded in death by her parents, George and Maudie Irene McRae McKinney; her husband, Chris Holston Sr.; three brothers, Truel McKinney, Herman McKinney, and Edward McKinney; and a sister, Lillie Holston.

She is survived by a son, Chris Holston Jr. (Gay) of Gautier; two daughters, Brenda Elam (Gayle) of Pattison and Becky Carlisle (Hollie) of Gautier; four grandsons, Derrek Elam, Lance Carlisle, Chris Carlisle, and Adam Carlisle; three great-grandchildren, Collier Carlisle, Audrey Carlisle, and Camille Carlisle; and a brother, Vernon McKinney.

A graveside service will be held at 12:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 21, 2014 at Winchester Cemetery in Wayne County.  Visitation will be from 10a.m. to noon at Freeman Funeral Home in Waynesboro.
