Man held in First East shooting

Warren County man accused of an Aug. 19 shooting was held without bail this morning.
Albert Buchanan, 19, 365 Drayton Road, was arrested at 7:42 p.m. Friday and charged with aggravated assault, Vicksburg Deputy Police Chief Bobby Stewart said.
Buchanan is accused of shooting Levi Branch, 21, 120 Redhawk Road, at about 12:30 a.m. Aug. 19 near Openwood and First East streets.
Buchanan was held without bail this morning in the Issaquena County Correctional Facility awaiting his initial court appearance.
BMW reported stolen
A car was missing this morning after being report stolen near Halls Ferry Road and Pemberton Square Boulevard.
At 7:48 p.m. Saturday, a charcoal gray 2002 BMW with Mississippi tag WAN841 was reported stolen from the 3400 block of Halls Ferry Road, Vicksburg Deputy Police Chief Bobby Stewart said.
Guns missing in burglaries
Guns were missing this morning from two unlocked trucks in the city late last week.
At 8:38 a.m. Friday, a Beretta 9mm pistol valued at $450 was reported missing from an unlocked 2010 Ford F-150 the 1800 block of Edna Drive, Vicksburg Deputy Police Chief Bobby Stewart said.
At 7:48 p.m. Saturday, a Smith & Wesson 9mm pistol valued at $530 was reported missing from an unlocked 1996 Chevrolet truck in the 3400 block of Wisconsin Avenue, Stewart said.
Weed trimmer, child’s ATV missing
A weed trimmer and a child’s four-wheeler were missing this morning following a theft Friday on Heartwood Drive.
At 7:50 a.m. a Redmax weed trimmer and a child’s toy four-wheeler were reported missing from the 600 bock of Heartwood Drive, according to Warren County sheriff’s records.
