Clara Roberta Floyd

Clara Roberta Floyd of Gonzales, La., died Aug. 30, 2014, at her home. She was 103.

Born in Port Gibson, Mrs. Floyd lived in Claiborne County for most of her life, but lived in Gonzales for the last 30 years. She attended the Ascension Baptist Church in Gonzales.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Eugene Floyd; daughters, Gladys Clark and Frances Brewer; and sons, David Eugene Floyd, and James Clark Floyd.

She is survived by one son, Ervin Floyd of Holly Springs; three daughters, Clara Chapman of Prosperity, S.C., Dorothy Jobe of Vicksburg and Estelle Beaver of Gonzales; two sisters, Bessie Mae Anderson of Port Gibson and Marie Williams of Vaiden; 28 grandchildren; great-grandchildren; and great-great grandchildren.

Service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 3, 2014, at Glenwood Funeral Home with the Rev. Bert Bryant officiating. Burial will follow at Hermanville Cemetery in Hermanville.

Visitation will be Wednesday from 9 a.m. until the hour of service.

Pallbearers will be Jerry Beaver, Terry Jobe, Jeff Jobe, Dave Jobe, Roy Floyd and Stan Cox.
