Jessie Lee Terrell

Jessie Lee Terrell passed into glory with her loving son by her side on Monday, Sept. 15, 2014, at River Region Medical Center. She was 95.
Born on Aug. 22, 1919, in Jefferson County, she was the daughter of Willie and Charity Cheese Robinson. She was a wonderful homemaker, loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was educated in the Jessamine Ridge and Poplar Hills schools in Jefferson County.
After moving to Vicksburg in 1944, she united in Christian fellowship at King Solomon Baptist Church, pastored by the Rev. Bennie Thomas, where she remained a faithful member for over 70 years, with her last years under the Christian guidance of the Rev. R.D. Bernard until her home-going.
In 1945, she met the love of her life and was joined in holy matrimony to the late Leroy R. Terrell. To this union one child was born, Benny M. Terrell Sr., on whom they showered with love and raised in a Christian environment.
Mrs. Terrell was a kind, loving, caring and devoted wife and mother, who was preceded in death by her loving husband; parents; three sisters, Josie B. Cason, Rebecca Chambers, Rosie Lee Heath and her brother, Eddie Heath.
This Christian family woman and dedicated wife and mother leaves to cherish precious memories her son, Benny M. Terrell Sr.; her beloved daughter-in-law, Wilmer D. Terrell; grandchildren, Benny M. Terrell Jr. of D’Iberville, and Tiffany M. Terrell of Vicksburg; two great-grandchildren, Austin M. Terrell and Mekhi D. Mims of Vicksburg; her wonderful and special nieces whom she loved dearly; Charity Cason and Helen Jenkins of Grand Rapids, Mich., Mary Louise Figures of Chicago and Rose Marie Cason of Vicksburg; great-nieces, Sandra Cason Carr of Vicksburg and Peppie Cason Ford of Dallas; her special nephews, Leroy Robinson (Dorothy) of Lorman and Jack (Bubba) Terrell Jr. of Detroit; her loving cousin, Katherine Gibbs of Corona, Calif.; a loving goddaughter, Dorothy Felix of Vicksburg; special friends, Mrs. Mae Ella Nichols of Chicago and Mrs. Theresa Thomas of Dayton, Ohio; a host of other relatives and friends especially the King Solomon Baptist Church family.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 19, 2014, at King Solomon Baptist Church, 180 Oak Ridge Road in Vicksburg, under the direction of W. H. Jefferson Funeral Home.
Visitation will be Friday at the funeral home from 5 to 7 p.m. with the family present at 6 p.m., and Saturday from 10 a.m. until the hour of service.
Pallbearers will be Bradford Steed, Ferdell Carr, Ben Humphries, Mario Cason, Terrell Davis, Jeff Knight and Ernest Palmer Jr.
Honorary Pallbearers are Leroy Robinson, Richard Figures, Willie Henry Smith, Frank James, Col. Glenn Oliver, Louis Sullivan, Peter Nichols, Sullivan Caldwell, Thomas Sandles, Johnny Williams, Leonard Knight, Dr. George Abraham and Dr. Paul Pierce IV.
