The engagement of Jamie Katherine Pierce and Andrew “AJ” James Barnes, both of Vicksburg, is announced today.

Miss Pierce is the daughter of Brian and TJ Pierce of Vicksburg. She is the granddaughter of Barbara and Ray Hood of Vicksburg, James and Kathy Pierce of Delta, Louisiana and the late Tommy Westmoreland.

Mr. Barnes is the son of Harry and Pam Barnes of Vicksburg. He is the grandson of Jake and the late Renza Shoops and the late Ike and Mamie Barnes, all of Vicksburg.

The bride elect is a 2006 graduate of Warren Central High School where she was a member of HOSA and the Spanish Club. She attended Hinds Community College.

The prospective groom is a 2004 graduate of Warren Central High School where he was a member of varsity soccer and cross country. He attended Mississippi Delta Community College. He is employed at Titan Engineering and Construction.

Vows will be exchanged at 4 p.m. Oct. 25, 2014 at Southern Cultural Heritage Foundation with a reception to follow.
