Lena Frances Ammons

Port Gibson — Lena Frances Ammons died Wednesday, Sept. 17, 2014, at Claiborne County Nursing Home. She was 87.
She was born in Hinds County and lived in Edwards for 18 years, where she was the owner and operator of the Stuckey’s store. For the past eight years, she had made her home in Port Gibson.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Norman Ammons, and a son, Orise Shields Ammons.
Survivors include her daughter, Norma Frances Case of Brookhaven; son, Rick E. Ammons of Vicksburg; brother, James McCollum of Natchez; four grandchildren; and great-grandchildren.
Graveside services were held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 20, 2014, at Wintergreen Cemetery in Port Gibson with Larry Davis officiating, under the direction of Glenwood Funeral Home.
