George Elbert Carr, 90, of Vicksburg, died Saturday, Sept. 27, 2014, at River Region Medical Center.

Services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 30, 2014, at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Mount Olive. Burial will follow at Mount Olive Cemetery.

Visitation will be Tuesday from 10 a.m. until the service at the funeral home.

Mr. Carr was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Wesley Carr and Nina Blanche Ervin Carr; and two brothers, Edgar Leroy Carr and Joseph Wesley Carr Jr.

Survivors include his wife, Louise Calhoun Carr of Vicksburg; two daughters, Beverly Carr Cotton (David) of Vicksburg and Sheila Carr Reese (Gavin) of Union, Ky.; one grandchild, Jennifer Reese Wilkinson (Geoffery) of Louisville, Ky.; one great-grandchild, Rees Alan Wilkinson; one sister, Eleanor Carr Lewis (Sidney) of Mount Olive; five step-grandchildren 13 step-great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers are Larry Carr, Joe Carr, Mike Carr, Kevin Carr, Joe Carr and Charlie Carr.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hawkins United Methodist Church youth, 3736 Halls Ferry Road, Vicksburg, MS 39180.
