Edna Marie “Heavy” Lane died Sept. 24, 2014 at University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson.  She was 73.
Mrs. Lane served as a deaconess for many years at Morning Star Seventh Day Adventist Church.

She was preceded in death by her father, Spencer Payne, Sr.; mother, Florence Thomas Payne; husband, Alonzie Lane, Jr.; brother, Calvin Payne and sister, Bobie Hall.
Survivors include four daughters, Betty Perkins, Veronica Walker, Janice Lane and Angela Bailey all of Vicksburg; four sons, William Lane of Vicksburg, Larry Lane of Minneapolis, Minn., Andre Lane and Terry Lane both of Vicksburg; 14 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Services will be 1 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 4, 2014 at Travelers Rest Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. Friday, with family hour from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Lakeview Memorial Funeral Home.
