Poker sharks at Ameristar Casino can be dealt another pat hand if they missed the first big tournament earlier this year.

The Heartland Poker Tour makes another stop at the Washington Street casino Friday through Oct. 19, marketing manager Lori Burke said. The buy-ins range from $50 to $1,650 for the main event, to be televised at a later date, Burke said.

Thirty-four participants from Mississippi have registered for the tour’s second appearance in Vicksburg, Burke said.

Rankin County Supervisor Jay Bishop won the $39,129 top prize in the North Dakota-based tour’s first tournament final here March 24. Elbert Campbell, of Utica, and Doug Segers, of Vicksburg, finished second and fifth, respectively.

March’s final will be televised sometime in December, Burke said. Tour organizers said TV time had been secured on MAVTV and the Mid-Atlantic Sports Network for the broadcasts. Both are accessible on DirecTV and DISH.
