A road trip to Southern Miss, and home games against Alabama and LSU will highlight Mississippi State’s 2015 schedule, while Ole Miss will welcome Fresno State and LSU to Oxford. Both teams’ schedules, as well as those of the 12 other Southeastern Conference teams, were announced Tuesday by the league office.
Mississippi State’s schedule is littered with new road destinations. The Bulldogs open the season Sept. 5 at Southern Miss, their first visit to Hattiesburg since 1989. They’ll also play at Missouri for the first time since 1984, and face Arkansas in Fayetteville for the first time since 1993. Other road games include back-to-back weeks at Auburn and Texas A&M on Sept. 26 and Oct. 3.
The game at Missouri is on Nov. 5, a Thursday night.
Mississippi State’s home schedule includes games against LSU (Sept. 12), Alabama (Nov. 14) and the season-ending Egg Bowl against Ole Miss on Nov. 28.
Ole Miss will open the season at home on Sept. 5 against Tennessee-Martin, then hosts Fresno State the following week. Its first SEC game is Sept. 19 at Alabama. It’ll host LSU on Nov. 21. Other key SEC games include visits to Florida on Oct. 3 and Auburn on Halloween, and Mississippi State.
Elsewhere in the SEC in 2015, the first weekend of the season will see three teams take on top-flight non-conference opponents in neutral-site games. Alabama faces Wisconsin in Arlington, Texas; Auburn plays Louisville in Atlanta; and Texas A&M will take on Arizona State in Houston.
Other major non-conference games include Oklahoma at Tennessee (Sept. 12); Texas Tech at Arkansas (Sept. 19); LSU at Syracuse (Sept. 26); and rivalry games between Florida and Florida State, Georgia and Georgia Tech, Clemson and South Carolina, and Louisville and Kentucky on Nov. 28.
