Stone leads St. Al to second-place finish

Dixon Stone posted three top-three performances Saturday to lead St. Aloysius to a second-place team finish at the Class I South State swim meet in Biloxi.
Stone was second in the 50 yard freestyle and third in the 100 freestyle, and was part of the 200 medley relay that finished second and the 200 freestyle relay that was third.
St. Al totaled 104 points, well behind the 139 of first-place St. Andrews.
Class I consists of schools in Class 1A through 4A in most other sports.
Connor Clark finished third in the 100 yard backstroke and was on the medley relay and the 400 freestyle relay that came in second.
Charlie Martin was on the medley and 200 freestyle relays, and also got a third-place individual finish in the 100 breaststroke and a second in the 200 individual medley.
Gabriel Riveros was on all three of the Flashes’ relays, while Tommy Martin was on the 200 and 400 freestyle relays.
In the girls’ meet, the relay team of Adrienne Eckstein, Katie Martin, Victoria Gong and Katelyn Brock finished second in the 200 freestyle relay and the 200 medley relay.
Eckstein also placed third in the 100 backstroke.
St. Al finished fourth in the team standings, with 48 points. St. Andrew’s won the girls’ meet with 154 points.
