Bratwurst and sauerkraut are the headliners at the 26th annual Germanfest from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Lutheran Church of the Messiah. The fundraiser is held each year at the church, 301 Cain Ridge Road, and proceeds from the sales will benefit the church’s programs.
The cost is $10 for bratwurst plates and $5 for hot dog plates and the dinners include hot German potato salad with bacon, calico baked beans and a roll. Tea, root beer, soft drinks and water are available to drink. Attendees are also welcome to bring their own drink of choice.
Cheesecake, carrot, chocolate, and caramel cakes, pumpkin rolls, and pecan pie will be for sale.

“From staying informed with local governmental issues to hearing the stories of its people, a hometown newspaper is vital to a community. I have felt privileged to be part of a dedicated team at The Post throughout my tenure and hope that with theirs and with local support, I will be able to continue to grow and hone in on my skills as I help share the stories in Vicksburg. When asked what I like most about my job, my answer is always ‘the people.’
