Joseph C. “Tall Paul” Hunt died Friday, Oct. 24, 2014 at Select Specialty Hospital in Jackson. He was 72.

Mr. Hunt was born to the late Mr. and Mrs. Charlie Hunt on June 27, 1942, in Vicksburg. He was the second born of four sisters and two brothers.

He attended Grove Street Baptist Church in Vicksburg and Rosa A. Temple High School. He dedicated 20 years of his life to Gary Community School in Gary, Ind.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Charlie Hunt and Patsy Hunt; brother, Charles Hunt; and a nephew, William H. Cooper.

Survivors include his daughter, Gidget Hunt of Vicksburg; his son, Joseph Hunt Jr. of Vicksburg; four sisters, Charlean Cooper of Forestville, Md., Edith Scott, Calannye Jackson and Eleanor Weddington all of Dallas; one brother, John Hunt of Dallas; seven grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.

Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 1, 2014 at Greater Grove Street Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Dr. Casey D. Fisher officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery.

Visitation will be Friday from 1 to 7 p.m. with the family present from 6 to 7p.m. at Lakeview Memorial Funeral Home.
