It’s a good year to be a Viking at Warren Central High School

It is a great year to be a Viking as we celebrate the 50th anniversary of Warren Central High School. We are currently welcoming the transformation of public school education by implementing the new
Common Core State Standards.
These standards are put into place to increase the rigor for every high school student, and to compare them with students across the United States. Our Mississippi Department of Education accountability results from last year show that we have grown academically as a school-especially in the area of mathematics. We had an almost ninety percent growth for all students in this area.

We are also experiencing a great year at Warren Central High School in our extra-curricular activities. Our football team has had a great start by being ranked in the top 10 in the state. Our Lady Vikes softball team made it to the second round of the state playoffs, while our swim team recently competed in the state championships. Warren Central’s band has completed a wonderful marching season by once again gaining all superior rankings in the state marching contest. We are proud of all these achievements that serve to increase our Viking Pride!
Warren Central honored the 1994 state football champions at a recent home game and has hosted tours of various other graduating classes to physically see the transformation of WCHS. We recently crowned Miss Afton Wallace our Homecoming Queen, and she certainly represents all that we stand for here at Warren Central. We continue to strive for greatness while continuing to make WC the place to BE!!!!
