Two Vicksburg men accused of being involved in a shooting early Saturday were held without bail Wednesday and additional charges are expected.

Billdevon Shelton, 18, 123 Roseland Drive, was charged Monday with three counts of aggravated assault, and Roderick Burden Jr., 21, 2016 Skyfarm Ave., was charged with possession of a weapon after felony conviction, Vicksburg Police Capt. Sandra William said.

At least one additional suspect is being sought in the shooting.

“We do expect additional arrests as this investigation unfolds,” Williams said.

Shelton is accused of shooting Alton Burden Jr., 21, Tyree Barnett, 17 and Shamarr Horton, 19, during a fight at a house party where as many as 250 people attended Saturday in the 3000 block of Washington Street, Williams said.

All three shooting victims were treated and released from hospitals.

Roderick Burden Jr., who is related to Alton Burden Jr., had a gun during the fight but was not involved in the shooting that wounded the three men, Williams said.

Burden was convicted of burglary in August 2013 and received a nonadjudicated sentence, according to court records. Nonadjudication allows first-time nonviolent offenders to complete probation under certain conditions and avoid a felony conviction on their criminal record.

Both suspects in the shooting were held without bail Wednesday awaiting initial appearances in Warren County Court. Earlier this year, the city gave County Judge Johnny Price the authority to hold initial appearances in all the city’s firearms related crimes.

Police are hoping the investigation also leads to the arrest of the person who shot two teens with a shotgun Nov. 3 in the 800 block of National Street.

The Washington Street shooting could also be related to a shooting Friday on Polk Street. At about 6:30 p.m. Friday a homeowner on Polk reported her home had been shot into, Williams said.

Anyone with informational bout the Polk Street shooting is encouraged to call Vicksburg Police at 601-636-2511 or Central Mississippi Crime Stoppers at 601-355-8477. Crime Stoppers pays a cash reward of up to $2,500 for information leading to the arrest of a felony suspect. Callers remain anonymous and do not have to testify in court.
