Shots fired into moving vehicle

A shooter was on the lam this morning after firing shots into a vehicle Tuesday night on North Frontage Road

At about 7:10 p.m., a man reported that his car had been shot at three times as he was driving in the 2100 block of North Frontage Road, Vicksburg police Capt. Sandra Williams said.

The man told police that the he had been driving on Interstate 20 when a dark four-door car attempted to force him off the road. He exited at Halls Ferry Road and stopped at the traffic light at Pemberton Square Boulevard where he noticed someone from the other vehicle get out of the car and rummage through its trunk.

The man told police he was headed to Kroger but decided to take a different route after the vehicle began following him, and ended up North Frontage Road, Williams said.

It was unclear where the man turned his vehicle or why he went to North Frontage Road.

He was not injured in the shooting, Williams said.
