John D.  Goodson passed away on Dec. 11, 2014, at River Region Medical Center. He was 60.

Born to John Thomas Goodson and Mary Renfrow Goodson on Oct. 17, 1954, in Morton, he spent most of his life in Vicksburg. He was retired from the Nucor Steel Co.

He is survived by his wife, Jeanne J. Goodson of Vicksburg; his son, Michael Goodson (Kristi) of Clinton; his daughter, Gena Carrick of Vicksburg; two brothers, Billy Goodson (Gwen) and Ricky Goodson (Elaine), both of Vicksburg; a sister, Faye Wilson (James “Jr.”) of Vicksburg; four grandchildren, Synthia Goodson, Sarah Goodson, Nickolas Carreck, and Rebekah Goodson; his mother-in-law, Bobbie Johnston of Vicksburg; his sister-in-law, Susie Stauts (Robbie) of Vicksburg; and his brother-in-law, Paul  Johnston (Lynn) of Vicksburg.

Services were held at 2 p.m. Monday, Dec. 15, 2014, at Glenwood Funeral Home with the Rev. Mitchell Hedgepeth officiating. Interment followed at Cedar Hill Cemetery. The visitation was from noon until the hour of the service.

Pallbearers will be John Stauts, Chris Stauts, Steven Griffith, Joshua Wilson, Jordan Wilson, Robby Goodson, Tim Goodson, and Joey Johnston.  Honorary pallbearers will be Jonathan Somerville, Patrick Goodson, Stephen Goodson, Matt Gullett, Terry Wong, and Carl Wilson.
