PORT GIBSON — Thomas Gordon “Turtle” Boren III died Thursday, Jan. 1, 2015, at River Region Medical Center after a brief illness. He was 64.

He was a native of Claiborne County, graduating from Chamberlain-Hunt Academy, and was a Vietnam Veteran having served in the U. S. Army.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ida Faye Davis Boren and Thomas “Jr.” Boren; and his grandparents, Thomas G. Boren Sr. and Mare Boren.

He is survived by his daughter, Mary C. Kellams (Shane) of Buckeye, Ariz.; sisters, Janice Jones (Harvey) of Port Gibson and Donna Alston (Billy) of Abbeville, La.; brothers, Darrell Herbert (Katina) of Abbeville, La., and Lester Perrin (Betty) of Winnie, Texas; grandchildren, Chrissy Donaldson (Tim) of Lima, Ohio, and Bryce Kellams of Buckeye, Ariz.; great-grandchild, Kyler; and uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and other relatives and friends.

Graveside services will be noon Tuesday, Jan. 6, 2015, at Wintergreen Cemetery with Rev. Michael Herrin officiating.

Visitation will be Tuesday at Glenwood Funeral Home in Port Gibson from 10 a.m. until the hour of the service.
