Peggy Graves Conerly

Peggy Graves Conerly, 83, of Vicksburg, died Wednesday, Jan. 7, 2015, at River Region Medical Center.
Peggy was born June 19, 1931, in Tylertown to Nell and Harlon Graves. She attended Walthall County schools, where she met her future husband.
She married J.C. Conerly Sept. 19, 1949. After the couple moved to Vicksburg, Peggy worked tirelessly for Warren County Schools, starting at Jett Elementary in 1967 and retiring at Warrenton Elementary in 1991 as school dietician.
A devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Peggy enjoyed her family most of all. A longtime member of Immanuel Baptist Church, she was devoted to daily Bible study and prayer.
Peggy is survived by her husband, J.C. Conerly Sr.; children, Nell Southall of Vicksburg, Elaine Morris (Jim) of Clinton, J.C. Conerly Jr. (Teri) of Vicksburg, David Conerly (Marianne) of Vicksburg, Mark Conerly (Leigh) of Vicksburg, and Paul Conerly (Debra) of Vicksburg;
11 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren.
She is also survived by siblings, Bill Graves of Florence, John Graves of Baton Rouge, La., Benny Graves of Tylertown, Faye Packwood of Tylertown and Paul Graves of Tylertown.
Funeral Services will be Friday, Jan. 9, 2015, at 10 a.m. at Glenwood Funeral Home, with the Rev. Billy Brumfield officiating.
Pallbearers will be Peggy’s grandsons Chase Conerly, Taylor Rowland, Don Rowland Jr., and Michael Southall; grandson-in-law Randy Broome; and nephew Chris Packwood.
Visitation will be Thursday 5 to 7 p.m., and Friday from 9 to 10 a.m. at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude’s Children Hospital.
