Funeral services for Carrie Marley Lighter will be noon Saturday, Jan. 17, 2015, at Greater Jerusalem Baptist Church on Mount Alban Road with the Rev. Kemp Burley Jr., officiating.

Burial will follow at the Spratley Family Cemetery under the direction of Robbins Funeral Home.

Visitation will be Friday afternoon at the funeral home until 6 p.m., and Saturday at the church from 11 a.m. until the hour of service.

Mrs. Lighter died at her home Friday, Jan. 9, 2015.  She was 97.

She was a longtime member of Holy Hill M.B. Church and a member of American Legion Auxiliary, Post 3.

She was preceded in death by her husband, J.C. Lighter, and a half-sister, Ruby Lucas.

Survivors include her daughter, Ruth C. Lewis of Vicksburg, and her son, Willie K. Childress of Wichita, Kan.; 13 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and 10 great-great-grandchildren.
