A Vicksburg teen will be tried on weapon and drug possession charges following a hearing Friday in Warren County Youth Court.
George Dennis Moore, 17, 140 Lake Hill Drive, was certified to stand trial as an adult on possession of a stolen firearm and possession of crack cocaine after Warren County Sheriff Martin Pace saw him point a gun at a convenience store while the sheriff was at a gas pump.
“I was gassing up my car at the station on Cherry and Clay,” Pace said. “He was a passenger in another vehicle and I observed him raise a high-caliber handgun with a laser sight at the front door. “I walked up, took the gun away, and a search of the serial number showed it was stolen from Tupelo,” Pace said.
A subsequent search turned up a small package of crack cocaine on his person, Pace said.
He was held Friday without bond and his case would be presented to a future Warren County grand jury.
