Juvernia Robinson

LEXINGTON — Juvernia Robinson of Itta Bena died Monday, Jan. 19, 2015, at Greenwood Leflore Hospital. He was 80.

Mr. Robinson was a retired teacher and administrator for the Leflore County School District and a member of Samuel Chapel United Methodist Church, where he served as a Boy Scout leader, Sunday school teacher, church treasurer, certified lay speaker and a men’s choir member. He was a member of the Optimist Club and enjoyed fishing and hunting.

Survivors include his wife, Cathon Jones Robinson of Greenwood; son, Steven Robinson of Greenwood; daughter, Deborah Robinson Cooper of Vicksburg; and two sisters, Agnes Lang of Bay Springs and Josephine Smith of Kenner, La.; and three grandchildren.

Services are noon Saturday, Jan. 24, 2015, at New Bethel M B Church in Lexington with the Rev. Paula Milo-Moultrie officiating. Burial will be at Pitt Memorial Gardens in Itta Bena under the direction of Century Funeral Home of Greenwood.

Visitation will be from 1 to 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home

Pallbearers will be his grandsons and nephews.
