2015 is the year of Back to the Future

For “Back to the Future” fans 2015 holds a lot of promise.
In the second offering of the Marty McFly movie trilogy, Marty travels from 1985 into the future to the year 2015.
Compared to 1985, things were very different in the future and today some of that technology has come to fruition.
Communicating face-to-face over a television screen has gotten even smaller and fits in a shirt pocket. Hoverboards are a reality, although still in the prototype stage. I can’t wait to get my hands on one of those.
The Cubs still haven’t won the World Series, self-drying jackets are not a reality and leashes that walk dogs on their own don’t exist. Fashion trends are all over the map and I have no real interest there.
I wasn’t a big fan of the movie when it came out, I thought the first and third offerings were the best. However, I am interested in the date when Marty arrived in 2015.
Oct. 21 holds a special place in the Barry household. That is my wife’s birthday.
This year is a significant one for her and will be the fifth one she celebrates in Vicksburg. I plan on throwing her the biggest party since we’ve been married. The theme will be a no-brainer and I’m pretty sure some of those wacky fashion trends in the movie will be a must.
My wife loves a big party and to feel special on days when she deserves to feel special. Who can blame her? She is the love of my life and I’d do anything for her.
Now I need that one big thing that sends it over the top. I need to find a DeLorean.
I hear a Houston company is offering a screen-accurate “Back to the Future” version DeLorean for $45,000. That’s on top of the price for the car itself. I better start saving now.
