Ruthie Mae Costillo

Ruthie Mae Costillo died Wednesday, Jan. 28, 2015, at River Region Medical Center. She was 82.

Born on Nov. 3, 1933 to James Bennett and Annie Lizzie Gritsinger, she was a lifelong resident of Vicksburg. She was a member of the Apostolic Church of Vicksburg.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by two sons, Charles Clifton Costillo and Richard Wesley Costillo and granddaughter, Heavyn Mickaela Sanderford.

She is survived by her husband, Charles W. Costillo of Vicksburg; son, Isaac Costillo of Vicksburg; daughters, Vivian Gladwell (Willie) of Vicksburg, Hattie O’Meara (Danny Paul) of Picayune, and Mary Sanderford of Vicksburg; sister, Mary Frances Dobbs, of Hattiesburg; seven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, aunts, and uncles.

Services are at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 3, 2015 at the Apostolic Church with the Rev. John Parks, Jr. officiating. Interment will follow at Greenlawn Gardens. Visitation is 5-8 p.m. Monday, Feb. 2 at the church.

Pallbearers will be Michael Sanderford, Thomas Emfinger, Tyler Emfinger, Willie Ellis, Jason Ellis, and James Ellis.  Honorary pallbearers will be Danny Paul Sanderford, Alvin Ashley, and Greg Sanderford.
