Nell LaHatte Webster

Nell LaHatte Webster died Friday, Jan. 30, 2015, at Covenant Health and Rehab. She was 94 years old.

Mrs. Webster was born Feb. 5, 1920 in Vicksburg, She was the daughter of the late Bartemus E.”Bart” LaHatte and Hazel M. McGillycuddy LaHatte. Mrs. Webster was a retired PBX operator for Marathon-Letourneau. She was a member of Hawkins United Methodist Church for over 61 years.

She is survived by a daughter: Shirley A. Sowell (Kenneth) of Vicksburg and a son: Gary W. Webster (Helen) of Vicksburg.

She has four grandchildren; Sharon Sowell of Clinton; Shirley Grantham of Vicksburg; Christopher Webster , (Carol) San Diego, Calif. and Michael Sowell (Tina) of Vicksburg; Seven great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren

In addition to her parents she was predeceased by her husband, Claude Herbert Webster and a brother Bart “Bill” Wilkinson LaHatte.

Graveside services will be Tuesday, Feb. 3, 2015, in Green Lawn Gardens with Reverend Susannah Grubbs Carr, Pastor of Hawkins United Methodist Church, officiating. Visitation will be at Riles Funeral Home from 9:30 a.m. Tuesday until the service. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Hawkins United Methodist Church, 3736 Halls Ferry Road, Vicksburg, MS 39180.

Pallbearers will be Easy Biedenharn, Jim Hobson, Cicero LaHatte III, Christopher Webster, Michael Sowell and Sonny Jones.
