Charles Frederick Ashley Sr.

Charles Fredrick Ashley Sr. passed away on Monday, March 9, 2015, at River Region Medical Center. He was 70.
Born to George Nelson Ashley Sr. and Rosalee Vickers Ashley on October 22, 1944, he was a lifelong resident of Vicksburg. He served in the U.S. Army and worked in construction. He was a member of the Baptist Faith.
He was preceded in death by his father, George Nelson Ashley, Sr.
He is survived by his mother, Rosalee Ashley of Texarkana, Ark.; his wife, Julie Ashley, of Vicksburg; son, Charles F. ‘Chuck’ Ashley Jr. of Eagle Lake; daughters, Trish Anderson (William) of Yazoo City, and Kim Ashley of Eagle Lake; sisters, Pearl Nevels, of Florida, Nell Graham of Texas, Ruth Heigh of Eagle Lake, and Agnis Anderson of Arkansas; brothers, George Nelson Ashley Jr. of Vidalia, La., William ‘Till’ Ashley of Texarkana, Ark., Robert Ashley, Calvin Ashley, Alvin Ashley, and David Ashley, all of Vicksburg, and James Ashley of Yazoo City; grandchildren, Randy Lee Banks (Kaoli), Clifton Cal Anderson, William Logan Anderson, Corbin Blake French, Charles Parker Ashley, Vivian Kate Ashley, Jerry Gage Ashley, and Charlsi Blair French; and great-grandchildren, William Troy Banks and Kayla Banks.
A memorial service is at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, March 11, 2015, at Glenwood Funeral Home, with the Rev. Steve Rowland officiating. Visitation is at 5 p.m. until the hour of the service.
Honorary pallbearers will be Robert McConnel, Ray Bufkin, Dewayne Roy, Jack Sanders, Bill Parker, Marvin Breland, and Mark McKay.
