WC tennis falls to Brookhaven

For the second time this week, Warren Central lost a match by one point.

The Vikings got points in boys singles, No. 1 boys doubles and mixed doubles, but lost 4-3 to Brookhaven on Thursday afternoon. That followed a 4-3 loss to Germantown two days earlier.

Joseph Jabour won in boys singles for Warren Central when his opponent, Jacob Bozeman, had to resign because of injury. In boys doubles, William Wooten and Brent Towne won 6-0, 6-0, and in mixed doubles Matthew Register and Avery Lynn Liddell won 6-2, 6-2.

Warren Central will return to action Saturday at 9 a.m. in the Julie Abraham Memorial Tournament, which will also feature Vicksburg High, St. Aloysius and Jim Hill, at Halls Ferry Park.
