Josephine Thompson Johnson Kenney died April 13, 2015, at Merit Health River Region Medical Center. She was 89.

Mrs. Kenney was born June 3, 1925, to the late George Thompson Sr. and the late Carrie Thompson in Warren County. She was a member of Travelers Rest Baptist Church in Yazoo County, and later became a member of Greater Mount Zion Missionary Baptist Church after she returned to Warren County.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Will Johnson and Robert Kenney Jr.; two sons, Jessie Johnson and Lee Floria Johnson; and two brothers, Lee Andrew Thompson and George Thompson Jr.

Survivors include her six daughters, Joyce Anderson, Mary Miller, Edna Williams, Olivia Haggan, Leanna Patterson and Levirdia Johnson all of Vicksburg; four sons, Leon Johnson of Dallas, James Johnson and Timothy Johnson, both of Vicksburg, and Cleothus Johnson of Greenville; 33 grandchildren; 57 great-grandchildren; and nieces, nephews, cousins and other relative and friends.

Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, April 25, 2015, at Lakeview Memorial Funeral Home with the Rev. George Patterson officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery.

Visitation will be Friday, April 24, 2015, from 1 to 6 p.m. at the funeral home.
