Helen Carmel Guchereau Yoste

Helen Carmel Guchereau Yoste, 88, passed away peacefully in her home at St. Catherine’s Village on Friday, April 24, 2015.
Helen was born in Vicksburg, on Jan. 24, 1927 to Alice (Miller) and T.B. Guchereau. She graduated from St. Francis Xavier Academy, in Vicksburg and attended Webster College in Webster Grove, Mo. In 1951, she married Jerry J. Yoste.
Helen was an active member of St. Richard Catholic Church since 1954. She was a member of Gerard of Magellan Circle, Quest Book Club, the Jackson Yacht Club, The Catalina Sailing Group, Optimist Club, Jackson Watercolor Group, and MS Artist Guild.
Helen was preceded in death by her parents, T.B. Guchereau and Alice Miller Guchereau, of Vicksburg; her husband, Jerry Jones Yoste; her brother, Charles M. Guchereau; daughter, Alice Barbara Yoste; grandsons, Jake Scott Addison and Andrew Yoste Defore.
She is survived by her children Claudia Addison (Mac), of Jackson, Carol Defore, of Oxford, Jesse Yoste (Lia), New Orleans and Mary Scott Hegwood (Wayne), of the Woodlands, Texas; her grandchildren, Michael Addison (Emily), Patrick Addison, Matthew Defore, Madeline Yoste, Connor Yoste, Jake Hegwood, Alice Hegwood and Jackson Hegwood; and her great grandchild Milly Addison.
Funeral services are scheduled for Monday, April 27 with a visitation from 10 until 11 a.m. A mass of resurrection will be at 11 a.m.
Interment will be at 2 p.m. at Cedar Hills Cemetery in Vicksburg.
In lieu of flowers memorials are requested for St. Vincent de Paul Society or Christian Service at St. Richard Catholic Church.
