Jessie A. Thompson died Friday, April 24, 2015, at Central Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson. She was 73.

Born and reared in Neshoba County, she lived most of her life in Vicksburg.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John Welton Sr. and Jessie Bell Taylor Thompson; husband, James Norman Thompson; sister, Faye Stalls; and brothers, John Welton Alexander Jr. and George Houston Alexander.

She is survived by her daughters, Betty J. Thompson of Ozark, Ala., and Melissa LaBorde of Yazoo City; son, James M. Thompson of Vicksburg; sister, Carolyn A. Thompson of Toney, Ala.; brother, Sammie L. Alexander of Vicksburg; two grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 29, 2015, at Glenwood Funeral Home with the Rev. Terry White officiating. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Gardens Cemetery.

Visitation will be Wednesday at the funeral home from 9 a.m. until the hour of the service.

Pallbearers will be Mike LaBorde, Aaron LaBorde, Charles Ray Brooks, Bubba Thompson, Tommy Thompson and Lee Alexander. Honorary pallbearers will be Michael LaBorde, Jr., M.L. LaBorde and David Earl Smith.
